Aura Dance Policies
We want Aura to be a safe, welcoming, and respectful space for every dancer and family who walks through our doors. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with a few of our most important studio policies before joining us for the season.
Attendance & Arrival
Dancers are expected to arrive on time and ready for class. Please avoid dropping your dancer off more than 5 minutes before their scheduled class, as Aura Studio is not responsible for dancers before their class begins.
If your dancer will be late or absent, please email the studio before class.
Parents and guardians are not permitted to observe regular classes from inside the Dance Room. We offer designated opportunities throughout the season for families to come in and see what their dancers have been working on!
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Children under the age of 6 must remain with an authorized adult until they are inside the studio with their instructor.
Please arrive on time for pick-up. Dancers waiting for their ride will remain inside the studio so their instructor can keep an eye on them. Because Aura is located on a busy street, dancers should never wait outside for their ride, regardless of age or time of year.
If pick-up is more than 10 minutes late, Aura will contact the primary guardian on file. A $10 late pick-up fee may be added to the account if staff are required to stay late and late pick-ups become a recurring issue.
Inside the Studio
To help us keep our studios safe, clean, and ready to dance:
No cell phones, gum, food or drinks other than water are permitted inside the studio.
Outdoor footwear must be removed before entering the Dance Room.
Shoes, jackets and personal belongings should be stored in the provided cubbies and hooks.
No hanging on the barres or touching studio mirrors and equipment.
Running and horseplay are not permitted in the entrance, hallway, washroom or studios.
Please have younger dancers use the washroom before their class begins.
Photography and video are not permitted without permission.
The Fitness Room, the area behind the front desk and Kneaded Massage Therapy are off-limits to dancers unless otherwise instructed.
Respecting Our Studio Community
Aura Studio has zero tolerance for bullying, harassment or inappropriate behaviour toward our dancers, families, clients or staff.
We expect dancers to respect their instructors, fellow dancers and the studio itself. If ongoing behaviour becomes disruptive or disrespectful, the instructor may ask the dancer to sit out until they're ready to participate, and the parent or guardian will be contacted when necessary.
Our goal is always to maintain a space where every dancer feels safe, comfortable and welcome.
Registration, Tuition & Withdrawals
Tuition Payments
Full-season tuition can be paid in full at registration or divided into 8 monthly instalments from October through June.
Monthly tuition is due on or before the 1st of each month. Payments received after the 3rd are subject to a $5 late fee for each additional late day.
All full-season dancers participate in Aura's year-end recital. A $25 recital costume deposit is due at registration, with the remaining costume balance due November 30.
Class Changes
Need to switch classes? Class changes within the same age group are permitted until October 31, subject to availability.
Withdrawing From Dance
Withdrawals are permitted until October 31.
For families who paid tuition in full, refunds will equal the total tuition and tax paid, minus $15 for each class that has run, regardless of attendance, and a $15 administration fee.
Monthly tuition payments are non-refundable.
After November 1, cancellations are non-refundable, including the recital costume deposit. Monthly tuition cancellations after this date are also subject to a $15 cancellation fee.
Class Cancellations & Weather
Weather Cancellations
Aura Dance follows Garden Valley School Division for weather-related class cancellations.
If school is cancelled in the morning due to weather, Aura Dance classes will also be cancelled unless conditions improve.
If weather deteriorates throughout the day when school has not been cancelled, Aura's studio head will make the decision regarding evening classes. Families will be notified by email by 2:00 PM that day.
Aura Studio is also closed on statutory holidays unless otherwise communicated.
There are no refunds for classes cancelled by the studio.
Missed Classes & Illness
If your dancer is sick, please keep them home and email the studio to let us know they won't be attending.
Monthly tuition remains due when a dancer misses class, and missed classes are not eligible for refunds.
Staying Connected
Email is our primary form of communication with Aura Dance families. Important studio updates, reminders and announcements will be sent to the primary email address provided at registration.If you need to update your dancer's information, add another parent or guardian to the mailing list, report an absence or speak with the Aura Dance team, please contact: dance@aurastudiopv.com.If you'd like to speak with an instructor about something that requires more than a quick conversation between classes, please email us to arrange a time to connect.
